Staying in shape and keeping up with your workout regime whilst on the road can be tough. But with state-of-the-art gyms and pools on-site at Village Hotels, there’s no need to skip a workout when you’re away from home.. You can roll out of bed and hit the gym before you start the day! We understand that things are a little different right now and post lockdown, you may be feeling cautious about hitting the gym. Our team has taken extra steps to ensure that our guests feel safe whilst working out and that social distancing can be adhered to. Read on for our top tips on staying safe and ensuring you still get your fitness kicks whilst on the road!
Book ahead and time it right
For a safe and contactless experience, Village Gym access can be added to your booking prior to arrival or at check-in. You must also pre-book your swim times at the leisure desk and we ask that you arrive promptly to ensure that social distancing can be maintained. When it comes to using the gym floor, our teams are working hard to manage the number of guests working out at any one time, to ensure that social distancing measures can be strictly adhered to. We recommend working out during our quieter periods, outside of the lunch time and 5pm rush!
Top tip: An early morning workout can really boost your energy levels and get your metabolism going for the day or an after work workout can be a great stress buster!
Keep your distance
We can’t wait to welcome you, but we’re keen to keep our distance! Our team have been working hard to set up various cutting-edge safety measures to maximise space and ensure that social distancing is maintained. You’ll spot clear markings all over the gym floor, perspex screens, and spaced out kit. We ask gym-goers to leave a machine between themselves and others, and pick an empty spot to lift in the weights area. We’ve also implemented a one-way system around the gym floor, which is clearly marked to ensure that everyone can move around safely.
Top tip: Get gym-ready in your room, and arrive ready to work-out. This means you won’t need to worry about bringing down your belongings, entering the changing rooms (although measures are in place should you need to!), and you can freshen up in the comfort of your own room afterwards.
Make the most of your time
We’ve already mentioned that Village Gyms have state-of-the-art facilities, and we’re not kidding! Each gym has an extensive range of cutting-edge resistance, cardio and functional training kit to ensure you can get the most out of your workout. If your favourite machine is pretty popular, we advise you to try out something else whilst you wait to avoid standing around.
Top tip: If you’re unsure how to use a piece of kit, be sure to ask one of our friendly Village Gym team - they’re on hand to ensure you get the most out of your workout! Why not check out our Village Gym socials, we’re on Facebook and Instagram with the latest fitness tips, how tos and club updates. Who knows, you might find a new favourite workout style!
Keep it clean
We’ve adopted advanced hygiene standards and upped our cleaning routines to deter the spread of the virus. Our teams employ state-of-the-art cleaning equipment that uses Electrostatic technology, which disinfects every surface it coats. Our gym and pool areas are cleaned multiple times per day, with particular attention paid to high touch surfaces. Plus, we’re providing complimentary hand gel, antibacterial soap, blue roll and antibacterial spray & wipes and we advise gym goers to wipe down the equipment before and after use.
We have also installed a clean air solution called Aera Max IV in our indoor cycling studios, this chemical-free solution uses filters to absorb 99.9% of airborne contaminants, so you can work out with peace of mind.
We hope that our top tips and extensive stay safe measures will give you reassurance that you can still maintain your workout regime whilst on the road. We recommend keeping up to date with the latest Government guidelines and local restrictions before you visit. Find out more about the steps we’re taking to keep our guests safe here.
