“I used to live in Headingly, but now I’m in Wiltshire I do miss my friends who’re still there. I’m also retired now, and spend a lot of time in the at the Village gym in Swindon, where I’m a member. That’s when I’m not running a book club, playing in two different ukulele groups, or leaning Greek!
Great for a gathering
We’ve stayed in lots of Village Hotels, and we loved our visits to Village Liverpool and Village Glasgow. Leeds North is a bit like coming home for us, as we lived in Headingley when my husband had a dental practice here. We have lots of friends in the area and Village is a great place to meet up. The big, relaxed public areas are great for a gathering of pals.
We really enjoy visiting museums and National Trust properties, that kind of thing. A big attraction for us in Yorkshire was Howarth and Bronte Country, which is less than an hour from Village Leeds North. Closer to the hotel itself, there are lots of great restaurants and independent shops in Headingley, all within a couple of minutes’ walk.
Breakfast heaven in Leeds
“As a Village Black Card member at home I get access to the gym and pool when I stay at other Village hotels, and the facilities at Leeds North are top notch. I’ve always found the staff at Village really friendly and helpful, and I LOVE the breakfasts - as a vegetarian I really appreciate the wide choice of meat-free options.”
There’s loads more to do in Leeds
Leeds is one of the UK’s best shopping destinations, combining big names like Harvey Nichols (the first outside London) with quirky little independent boutiques inside beautiful Victorian arcades and listed buildings. There’s also a thriving arts scene, with a packed calendar of events. The famous Headingley cricket ground is just round the corner from Village Leeds North, and it’s a short hop into town for nightlife.
