EASTLEIGH TOWN CENTRE
Eastleigh has a vibrant town centre with lots to see and do. Eastleigh Museum offers insight into the town’s past, with a recreation of a 1930s house and railway, whilst The Point offers something for the creatives, with live dance, theatre, comedy, film and music throughout the year. Adrenalin junkies will love the Team-Sport Indoor karting venue, a 450m indoor course with fly over and under pass. If you really want to live like a local, we recommend checking out Eastleigh’s traditional Market and Car Boot Sale which runs every Thursday and Saturday. You’ll discover a range of stalls including local produce and gifts and you might be able to pick up a gem at the car boot!
Itchen Valley Country Park
Itchen Valley Country Park is the perfect place to escape to, with over 440 acres of tranquil water meadows and woodland situated beside the River Itchen. Enjoy the work of local artists at the art exhibition, get stuck into a craft workshop, try your hand at orienteering, or reach new heights as you fly through the trees at Go Ape! Be sure to pack a picnic lunch so that you can take advantage of the BBQs available for hire.
Lakeside country park
Relax at Lakeside Country Park, amongst over 50 acres of woodland, meadow and lakes. Keep your eyes peeled! There is a diverse range of wildlife to spot, including birds, deer, foxes and bats! The park is also home to Eastleigh Lakeside Steam railway - a popular family attraction. Take a ride on the miniature railway between Eastleigh Parkway and Monks Brook Halt, you’ll steam through the stunning Hampshire countryside passing through a lake, children’s playground and plenty of picnic spots. The railway also hosts great events throughout the year, like Thomas the Tank Engine days.
The New Forest National Park
Located just 13 minutes from Eastleigh, the New Forest National Park really is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, with endless woodland, wildlife and roaming ponies, donkeys and cattle. There are over 100 different species of birds nesting in the reserves, heathland and woodland, including Kingfishers and Woodpeckers. Discover the history of William The Conqueror's ‘new hunting forest’, including the 500 year old mighty Knightwood Oak, known as the ‘Queen of the Forest’. There’s something for the whole family to discover at the park, by foot or cycle.
