Bournemouth is one of the most popular beach resort towns in the UK with seven miles of sand to enjoy. It even has its own microclimate meaning it gets some of the warmest weather in Britain! With an abundance of things to do and places to see, it’s the perfect destination for a summer family break!
Spend the day at the beach
Sheltered within a bay and surrounded by majestic cliffs, Bournemouth’s beaches are home to some of the warmest seas in the UK, where you can build sandcastles and paddle along the shallow shores. Beaches such as Alum Chine, Durley Chine, Fisherman’s Walk and Southbourne have all been awarded the internationally recognised Blue Flag award for cleanliness and safety. Whilst at Bournemouth Pier you’ll find cafes, amusements, an oceanarium and even a pier-to-shore zip-wire for the daredevils amongst us.
Location: For ease of access to the beach, Cliff Lifts are situated at West Cliff and Fisherman’s Walk, alongside zigzag path ways. The Land Train also runs along the promenade.
