Another one ticked off the bucket list
“You could definitely call me a Village regular - Village Hotels are a head and shoulders above other hotel chains. The pool and spa facilities are brilliant, and I love chilling out in the pool or the steam room after a busy day out sightseeing. In fact, since I’ve retired it’s become my ‘bucket list’ ambition to visit every Village Hotel in Britain.
So far we’ve been to lots of Villages, but Edinburgh could be my favourite. It’s one of the newer hotels in the network so everything is really modern and smart, and it’s in a fantastic location in the West End of the city. Big attractions like the Zoo and Murrayfield Stadium are close by, but there’s plenty of parking and it’s a peaceful area by night.
Just call us regulars
Edinburgh is a great city for walking around, looking at the wonderful architecture and dropping in to quirky little shops and cafés. We spent a whole day in Edinburgh Castle, and walked right through the city, as far as the waterside at Leith. We also found time to stroll around the Botanic Gardens, which are really close to the hotel. As we were there for three nights the staff got to know us quite well - we almost felt like regulars in the bar!
Our next Village trip is likely to be Nottingham. Can’t wait!”
Edinburgh: Truly a year-round destination
There’s always something exciting happening in Edinburgh. August sees the biggest arts festival in the world, and at New Year there’s the legendary Hogmanay street party. You’ll need to book early for a luxury Club Room at Village Edinburgh at those times, but there’s a warm welcome all year round - and major attractions like Edinburgh Zoo and Murrayfield are just around the corner.
