Training opportunities - supporting guests with additional needs

As part of a comprehensive package of support, we are working with Sense to provide training to our teams. Helping them to better understand and deliver on the needs of guests with additional needs. In addition, we will be donating bedrooms and hosting breaks for disabled adults through Sense.

Through the ‘My Village’ employee programme, we offer a fantastic range of employee benefits, training and development opportunities, including an exciting training platform with gamified learning. In addition, we offer training opportunities at all levels, including a National Apprenticeship Scheme that currently has more than 40 individuals earning while they learn, through to the Rising Star development programme aimed at those with leadership potential.

We strive to create a transparent and inclusive culture that recognises diversity not just with regards to gender, but where everyone, regardless of their race, religion or background has an equal opportunity to thrive at Village. We do this by offering training, fair remuneration and incentive policies, and flexible working.

In our 2023 Employee Engagement Survey 95% of our team members said they were proud to work for Village.  Village has a real focus on people in the business, from providing monthly activities; to on-site mental health first aiders; to constantly reviewing benefits.

Across the group, we have lots of opportunities for team members to get involved in Village Green. Events and activities are activated across all hotels and the central office every month (as a minimum), with a focus on Health & Wellbeing, charitable work and environmental initiatives. This includes activities such as litter picking, volunteering for local causes, fundraising and food bank collections, as well various National Awareness Days.

Team members also have access to various sustainability focussed benefits and initiatives that encourage a more sustainable lifestyle, examples include every team member having a complimentary gym membership for themselves plus a person of their choice, and access to Electric Vehicle finance.

Finally, we have recently appointed Sustainability Stars at all hotels, tasked with driving our ESG strategy at a local level, alongside Hotel General Managers and the senior leadership team. All team members are actively encouraged to share ideas on how we can further enhance our ESG plans to drive our overall goals.

At Village, we strive to provide a more sustainable choice for guests and members.  Whilst technology led solutions are in place, in particular in the area of energy consumption and waste management, we have also introduced proactive measures to inspire our guests to make more sustainable decisions, including signage around our hotels and leisure clubs, in-room messaging and guest communications.

Electric vehicle charging points are also available at some locations, with plans in place (pending planning permission) to roll out at all locations by mid August 2025.
