Village Green was established in 2019 and set out to create a 'community hub' where guests, gym members and our teams could come together to support the things that are important to them. Through fundraising events, community projects and charitable initiatives our aim was to have a positive impact on the communities we operate in - and that is still a key part of our mission. Over time Village Green has evolved to reflect our broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments. Today it represents a robust framework that demonstrates our priorities and plans when it comes to ESG and sustainability. We know that a more sustainable future is within reach and we want to play our part in getting there!

Through our ‘Stay Green’ programme we have undertaken an extensive environmental programme that runs through all areas of our business, whilst educating and encouraging guests and team members to make more sustainable choices.

Village Green is our ESG strategy. It summarises our commitments and priorities when it comes to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainability. Village Green recognises that we all have a part to play in creating a more sustainable future, and sits at the heart of how Village operates across all of the business.
ESG is an acronym that is widely used across the World - it stands for ‘Environmental, Social and Governance’. An ESG strategy is a set of standards, goals & measures that demonstrates a business' commitments, and impact on the planet and people. At Village, we call our ESG strategy VILLAGE GREEN.

We strive to be responsible members of the community, while acting as a hub for the local community and bringing people together to thrive.
Village has always prided itself on being at the heart of the local community, and Village Green has evolved over time to reflect our more broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments. The new Village Green framework was developed through consultations with our team members, a review of the needs of our corporate partners & clients, and the areas where we felt we could make the greatest impact.
Village Green sits at the heart of the Village brand and is part of what makes Village Hotels and Village Health & Wellness so special. Whilst our ESG strategy is led by Kelli Turner, Director of ESG and the Sustainability Steering Group, Village Green is led by our Executive Team and General Managers across all areas of the business and all hotels. It is everybody’s responsibility to ensure that our strategy lives and breathes within the hotels and leisure clubs.
Yes! We are planning to publish an Impact Report in due course, and we anticipate that comprehensive updates will be published annually.
