Environment - The Path to Net Zero
We recognise that an essential part of being a responsible business is caring for the environment. All of our work around environmental issues are led by the Executive Team and their role is to encourage each of our hotels to reduce their impact on the environment and ultimately reduce our carbon footprint and create a clear and transparent path to Net-Zero.
We recognise that climate change is a critical threat to our planet, local communities and future generations and that’s why we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment, from the energy we use and the waste we produce as a group. We have numerous policies in place to drive and assist this which focus on specific operations and how we can mitigate our current impact on the environment.
Our 2021 strategy is to fully understand our position in the market with regards to our effect on the environment and our carbon emissions.
Our 2022 goals will be set against the background of understanding the efficiency of our operation and our property portfolio and ensuring that our path to Net Zero is planned, measured and clearly implemented.
We believe, linked to our environmental principles, that in order to achieve our aim to become a more sustainable business, we must consider the wider community of each hotel we operate. We believe that as a growing business we have a duty to benefit our local communities, employees, members and customers.
